Free website check

Does your website actually need rebuilding?

Enter your website address and we'll check how it's built, how it performs and how easily search engines can read it. Then we'll tell you honestly what we'd do — including if the answer is nothing at all.

No email address needed. No sales call. Just a practical assessment of what's working and what could be improved.

The check usually takes under a minute and only looks at what any visitor's browser can already see. If your website is already good enough, we'll say so — that answer saves you money, and we think you deserve to hear it.

What we look at

What the check covers

Ten focused areas, inspected while you watch. Every check is based on publicly observable evidence — never on guesswork.

  • Secure connection and sensible redirects
  • Mobile and browser configuration
  • Page structure: titles, headings and metadata
  • Search engine signals: robots.txt, sitemap and indexing instructions
  • Page weight and image sizes, where servers report them
  • How pages link together internally
  • Basic accessibility indicators, such as image alt text
  • Forms and clear routes for customers to get in touch
  • Canonical URLs and structured data, where present
  • Response times for each inspected page

Honest grading

How findings are graded

No scores out of 100. No percentages. Every finding is described in plain English, with the evidence alongside it.

Working well

Things your website already does properly. We say these out loud deliberately — most automated tools only ever tell you what's wrong.

Worth improving

Small, fixable issues. These usually don't justify a new website — they're the kind of work that makes an existing site earn more.

Needs attention

Issues that actively cost you visitors, enquiries or search visibility. Even then, the tool says what it can't be sure about rather than guessing.

Transparency

Why spend more money than you have to?

A new website is one of the biggest spends a small business makes — and not always the right one. We built this tool because we kept meeting businesses who had paid for a rebuild their existing website didn't need.

So this check works the way we'd work with you directly: it looks only at what's publicly observable, shows you everything it finds as it finds it — the good as well as the bad — and says plainly when a website is already fine. If your site doesn't need rebuilding, we'll tell you. That answer costs us a sale; it saves you thousands.

You'll see exactly what we check while we check it, and every conclusion links back to evidence you can verify yourself. If we ever do recommend work, you'll be able to see precisely why.

Setting expectations

What this check can and cannot tell you

What it can tell you

  • How your website is technically built and delivered
  • Whether pages are structured so search engines can read them
  • Whether the site appears technically indexable
  • Where obvious usability and accessibility barriers sit
  • Whether visitors can easily find a way to contact you
  • What we would fix first, and what we would leave alone

What it cannot tell you

  • Whether your website generates profitable enquiries — only your analytics and sales data show that
  • Whether Google has indexed a page; we only check for technical barriers, and say “appears technically indexable”
  • How your site compares to competitors
  • Whether it's a full WCAG-compliant accessibility audit — that requires manual testing with real assistive technology
  • The quality of your copy, branding or photography
  • Whether the backend is easy for you to maintain day to day
